The Korea Professional Footballers Association announced on the 8th that it has donated 20 million won to recover from large forest fires in Uiseong and Andong, North Gyeongsang Province.

The donation was made through a fundraising campaign voluntarily joined by executives, professional soccer K-League players and WK-League players from the Korea Federation of Players, including Lee Keun-ho and Ji So-yeon.

Recently, a large forest fire accompanied by strong winds occurred in the northern part of North Gyeongsang Province, causing major damage, such as the loss of forests and the evacuation of many residents.

The Korea Forest Service raised the forest fire crisis warning to a "serious" level, and firefighting personnel and equipment were mobilized from all over the country to extinguish the fire.

Regarding such a tragic disaster situation, Lee Keun-ho, chairman of the Korea Professional Players Association, said, "As professional players exist in the love and support of the people, it is natural to be together when the people face difficulties."

Donations will be delivered through disaster relief organizations and will be used to support daily necessities of victims and restore the residential environment.

"My heart ached when I heard about the damage through the news. All the players have agreed to add even a small amount of strength to the victims in such a situation," Lee said. "I sincerely hope that the affected areas will be able to return to their daily lives soon." 안전놀이터
